Our commitment to the community and your education is based on our historic osteopathic education and teaching program.
Our former facility, Community Hospital of Lancaster, was the dominant provider for Osteopathic Medicine in Lancaster since its founding in 1927. In 1999 the Lancaster Osteopathic Foundation was formed.
Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center is a 144 bed teaching facility with multi specialty and subspecialty curriculums. We serve the educational needs of medical students. We offer residency programs in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Anesthesia.
The goal of each program is to develop a skillful and motivated physician by providing varied clinical experiences in the community and conducting regular academic conferences and lectures. Training in osteopathic diagnosis and treatment are prominent parts of our training program.
Each training program is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association and the PCOM MedNet. We welcome and encourage osteopathic physicians from across the country to participate in our training program. You will have the opportunity to observe many different cultures and their approach to medicine while at “The Heart.”
