The latest development in the ER Extra campaign at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center (HRLMC) is the addition of a texting option for ER wait times. For those not requiring immediate emergent care, the ER Extra texting option is designed to help decision making in emergency care extra fast and extra easy.
The ER Extra texting option is designed to help decision making in emergency care extra fast and extra easy. Simply text your zip code to ERTIME (378463) and you will receive the ER wait time at HLRMC. It’s that simple.
This option is only recommended for those not requiring immediate emergent care. We always recommend that if you think you may have a medical emergency, please call your doctor or 911.
ER wait times reflect the average wait time of the previous hour of the patients that were triaged during that time, otherwise known as Time to Triage.
Since the launch of ER Extra, the program has expanded to make the options even more robust. In addition to the ER Extra texting option and checking ER wait times online, patients can download an ER Extra iPhone app or access wait times via any mobile phone.
