The Speech/Language Pathology services at Heart of Lancaster include identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of speech, language, or swallowing disorders. Formal and informal assessment measures are employed, including the instrumental assessment of swallowing via video fluoroscopic evaluation in radiology. Services are primarily provided for inpatients. Typically treated disorders include oral-pharyngeal dysphagia, and apraxia of speech, dysarthria, dysphonia, dysfluency, and cognitive-linguistic disorders. Services are based on assessment of patient needs and delivered in accordance with a written plan of treatment.
